International Journal of Intelligent Autonomous Systems

The manuscripts for the International Journal of Intelligent Autonomous Systems (IJIAS) must be submitted online through the Journal Editorial Management System (JEMS). The JEMS helps the authors to keep track of their submissions.  Before submission, first-time users should register in the JEMS. The account will be activated within 12 hours of registration, and users will be informed via email.  Once the account is activated, the authors can begin manuscript submission. The JEMS will guide the authors through the process of submitting and uploading their manuscripts. The manuscript should be submitted as a Microsoft Word document (.doc or .docx) and written in English. Manuscripts not conforming to the guidelines mentioned in the Manuscript Preparation Section will not be accepted.

Editorial Policies

Review Policy

The Journal's Editorial Board is responsible for conducting the peer review process. Submitted manuscripts are assessed preliminarily by an expert editorial member selected by the Editor-in-Chief before the external review. If the manuscript is considered unsuitable at this preliminary review stage, it may be rejected without further review. If the manuscript is accepted, it will be sent for evaluation by external reviewers. After review, the Editor-in-Chief will make one of the following decisions:

  • Accept
  • Minor revision
  • Major revision
  • Reject with resubmission
  • Reject

The IJIAS is committed to the timely assessment of manuscripts. The peer-review process takes approximately 8-10 weeks.

When submitting a manuscript to the JEMS, an author may suggest external reviewers for his/her manuscript. When recommending an external reviewer, please keep in mind the following:

  • The reviewer should be a subject expert and able to provide reasoning for the acceptance/rejection of the manuscript.
  • The reviewer should not belong to the same institution as the author.
  • It is encouraged to include reviewers from different countries.
  • The reviewer should not be aware of your manuscript submission.

Please note that the Editors are not required to invite the recommended external reviewers suggested by the authors.

Publishing Policies

For Authors

  • The authors must ensure the originality of their submitted works. Plagiarism, whether to publish someone else’s work as the author's own paper, or copying essential parts of others’ papers without proper citation, is unacceptable and will incur plagiarism penalty.
  • Authors are requested not to submit manuscripts which are published elsewhere or are under simultaneous review.
  • Written consent from all the co-authors should be obtained by the author making the submission before submitting the manuscript to the IJIAS.
  • If the author discovers any errors in his/her manuscript after submission, the author should notify the journal’s Editor-in-Chief and supply the IJIAS with any necessary corrections or provide evidence in support of the originality of the manuscript.
  • Proper citations to other researchers, whose work is cited in the manuscript must be included in the reference section.
  • Any financial or other conflicts of interest should be disclosed in the author’s manuscript.

Plagiarism
The International Journal of Intelligent Autonomous Systems (IJIAS) considers plagiarism, breaches of best practices and copyright infringement issues unethical. We take every possible measure to protect the reputation of the journal against any type of malpractice. Before submitting any manuscript to the IJIAS, the author must check for any redundancy. If any of the above issues are found in a submitted manuscript, the IJIAS reserves the right to take action. These actions may include, but are not limited to retracting the manuscript from the journal, notifying the author’s institution and notifying relevant academic societies.

On Submission

The International Journal of Intelligent Autonomous Systems (IJIAS) offers contributing authors the option to publish as an Open Access Article. If the author selects open access, then the author is required to pay Open Access Fee following the acceptance of an article for publication. Besides the Open Access Fee, there are no hidden charges. For more information on open access policies, click here. The open access fee for IJIAS is given below:

Open access

  • In open access, the articles are made freely available to both subscribers and the wider public immediately after online publication.
  • Choosing open access does not affect the peer-review process of the manuscript.
  • The open access fee for IJIAS is 571 USD.

Extra Page Charges (Not Applicable for Open Access)

For subscription-based articles, manuscripts of 10 pages (research/review papers) or 6 pages (technical notes) will not be charged any fee. Submissions of more than 10 pages or 6 pages (respectively) will be charged 55 USD for each extra page. To easily keep track of the number of pages of the submission, authors can use the IJIAS template.

After Acceptance

Upon acceptance of any article in the IJIAS, the author will receive an acceptance notification email with a copyright form attached. The author is required to get the copyright form signed by all co-authors and send the scanned copy back to the Editorial Office for further processing. Upon successful completion of this process, a proof will be made available to the author for a final check prior to publication. The author can then proofread the manuscript and check for the typesetting, conversion errors and the accuracy of the text, figures and tables. Changes in the content of the submission after acceptance are not allowed without the Editor’s approval.
