All submissions to the Journal of Computation and Artificial Intelligence in Mechanics and Biomechanics (JCAIMB) must be made online via the Journal's Editorial Management System (JEMS). This dedicated online system helps authors to keep track of their manuscript from submission through publication. Before uploading a manuscript, first-time users should register in JEMS and create a user ID and password. Manuscripts not conforming to the guidelines mentioned in the Manuscript Preparation section will not be accepted..

Editorial Policies

Review Policy

The Journal's Editorial Board is responsible for conducting the peer review process. Submitted manuscripts are assessed preliminarily by an expert editorial member selected by the Editor-in-Chief before the external review. If the manuscript is considered unsuitable at this preliminary review stage, it may be rejected without further review. If the manuscript is accepted, it will be sent for evaluation by external reviewers. After the external review process, the Editor-in-Chief will make one of the following decisions:

  • Accept manuscript
  • Minor revision
  • Major revision
  • Reject with resubmission
  • Reject

JCAIMB is committed to the timely assessment of manuscripts. The peer-review process takes approximately 8-10 weeks for the external review.

When submitting a manuscript to JCAIMB, the author may suggest external reviewers for his manuscript. When recommending an external reviewer, keep in mind the following:

  • The reviewer should be a subject expert and able to provide reasoning for the acceptance/rejection of the manuscript.
  • The reviewer should not belong to the same institution as the author.
  • It is encouraged to include the reviewers from different countries.
  • The reviewer should not be aware of your manuscript submission.
  • Please note that the Editors are not required to invite the recommended external reviewers suggested by the author.

Publishing Policies

For Authors

  • The authors must ensure the originality of their submitted work. Plagiarism whether publishing someone else’s paper as the author’s own, or copying essential parts of others’ paper without proper citation, is unacceptable and will incur plagiarism penalty.
  • Authors are requested not to submit manuscripts which are published elsewhere or are under simultaneous review.
  • Written consent from all the co-authors should be obtained by the author making the submission before submitting the manuscript to JCAIMB.
  • If the author discovers any error in his/her manuscript after submission, the author should notify the journal’s Editor-in-Chief and supply JCAIMB with any necessary corrections or provide evidence in support of the originality of the manuscript.
  • Proper citations must be included in the reference section to other researchers whose work is cited in the manuscript.
  • Any financial or other conflicts of interest should be disclosed in the author’s manuscript.

Plagiarism

The Journal of Computation and Artificial Intelligence in Mechanics and Biomechanics (JCAIMB) considers plagiarism, breaches of best practices, and copyright infringement issues unethical. We take every possible measure to protect the reputation of the journal against any type of malpractice. Before submitting any manuscript to JCAIMB, the author must check for any redundancy. If any of the above issues are found in a submitted manuscript, JCAIMB reserves the right to take action. These actions may include, but is not limited to retracting the manuscript from the journal, notifying the author’s institution, and notifying relevant academic societies.

Manuscript Preparation

All manuscripts must use SI (metric) units in the text, figures and tables. Manuscripts should include the following information:

  • Title
  • Name of author(s) and their complete affiliation(s) including zip code(s)
  • Abstract (250-300 words)
  • Introduction
  • Main body of paper
  • Conflicts of Interest
  • Acknowledgements
  • References

Article Types

  • Research Article: This work should relate to the original research or any aspect of engineering, maintenance, operation, production, education etc.
  • Technical Note: This work includes the material which is typically insufficient for publication as an original research article; however, it furnishes new research. The Technical Note must be sufficient to propagate the research and should help the development of novel technologies and/or gadgets/devices.
  • Review Article: This work should present a critical review of a published piece of work which includes theoretical illustrations and numerical examples in the field of science, engineering and technology.

File Types
The manuscript file size should not exceed 6 MB. If the text (plus figures and tables) exceeds 6 MB, the figures may be submitted separately. The manuscript should be submitted as a Microsoft Word document (.doc or .docs).
